What Is Vaginoplasty?

Vaginoplasty is any surgical procedure whose purpose is to treat vaginal structural defects, affect aesthetic considerations to partially/totally construct or reconstruct a vagina.

In other words, vaginoplasty includes things like tightening the vaginal canal and making your vagina look "prettier".

You may also see vaginoplasty referred to as vaginaplasty.

Common Vaginoplasty Surgical Procedures

The most common surgical procedures associated with vaginoplasty are:

  • Labiaplasty - A reduction in the size or removal of pigmentation of inner or outer lips to improve function, appearance and sometimes comfort
  • Clitoral Hood Reduction - An increase in stimulation by removing or lessening of excess tissue around the clitoris
  • Hymenoplasty - Reattaching the hymen (most commonly for religious purposes or as a celebration of a strong union)
  • Liposuction of Mons Pubis - Removal of fat pad that covers the pubic bone

Similar to Vaginal Rejuvenation, the term vaginoplasty is used to describe any such vaginal surgery.

Vaginoplasty has been used in the gynecological field for decades to help women with medical issues like organ prolapse (vaginal, uterine, or even rectal), or various types of incontinence.

Some doctors provide a variety of these surgeries, and some are not qualified to offer any!

Questions To Ask Your Doctor

Over the past 10 years, as the popularity of Vaginal Tightening and Labiaplasty continues growing, more and more doctors are claiming to be experts.

Be aware of this and do your research!

A good number of the women I have worked with chose to do a combination of procedures for medical and/or cosmetic reasons.  If you have medical issues, insurance may help with some costs depending on the severity or need.

If you have questions about these procedures or would like help, contact me.
