According to The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, vaginal rejuvenation surgeries are up more than 300% over the past 5 years. As vaginal rejuvenation itself grows, so does the confusion surrounding the surgery and its merits.
Yet, I have seen many happy women cry tears of joy following their surgery with my own two eyes. The fact is that women do benefit from vaginal rejuvenation surgery and it's not just about better sex! And still the vast majority of women suffering from vaginal relaxation, stress urinary incontinence and prolapse are usually too embarrassed to even talk with their own gynecologist about it. Not everyone agrees, I know. My goal is not to convince or perpetuate any of your aforementioned concerns. And my job is not to serve as a moral judge or compass either.
However, I have spoken with hundreds of women about these procedures and their benefits. Whether you, me or anyone else agrees with them, they help these women. I too had a similar opinion about it at one time. It was not until after working with these women myself and seeing their lives transformed that my views changed.
Similar to how no man should have to live with uncontrollable urine spills or an abnormally large or painful scrotum, neither should a woman. It is for you and the women out there suffering with these conditions that I am a stand for. It is about education. And as long as I continue to know these procedures help them, I will continue providing the information.
My goal is to empower women with the knowledge, the choice is theirs. No one should have to live in the dark or in shame. There is no bliss in ignorance.
