Clitoral Hood Reduction

A hoodectomy or clitoral hood reduction is the trimming of skin/prepuce around the clitoris.

Naturally, women have a hood or skin around the clitoris for protection.  If the skin is excessive or interferes with hygiene and sex, some women choose to reduce it and usually in conjunction with a labiaplasty.

The excess skin can be causing bacterial infections (i.e. yeast infections).  In addition to affecting your health, it can also be impacting your sexual enjoyment.

Clitoral Hood

For women that feel they have too much skin around the clitoris, a clitoral hood reduction can remove the additional tissue to enhance orgasms through clitoral stimulation.

Since the clitoris is more exposed with the hood reduction, it is easier to access and arouse.

Other women, however, remove or reduce the clitoral hood strictly for aesthetic reasons.

Regardless of why you are thinking or choosing to have a clitoral hood reduction, keep in mind the sensitivity of this area.

There are risks with any surgery. You don't want to lose sensation by choosing the wrong doctor.

The clitoris is one of the most nerve rich areas of the human body.

Anytime you perform surgery on your body, you should be certain your doctor knows what he/she is doing, especially one with so many nerve endings!

In my experience, women would get the clitoral hood reduction with labiaplasty for aesthetic reasons.

See some before and after pictures.

If you have your labia reduced, but don't reduce the clitoral hood, it could leave your vagina looking "top heavy".

The clitoral hood reduction made for a better appearance.  Any sexual stimulation benefits were secondary.

Ask your doctor about this, and make sure your doctor has done this before.

Experience is huge!

Avoid becoming a HORROR STORY and take your time to research your doctor and the procedure.

You will be glad you did!
