| Elle Magazine Spreading Lies About Vaginal Rejuvenation |
|
A lot of times when I talk to women, they ask me why I go to the trouble of writing this blog and keeping this website up and running. I mean, I do have a day job. Well, this article in Elle magazine is a BIG part of the reason why. The article is written by Rachael Combe and is titled: "Sexy Back: Forgoing Mom Jeans for MILF Status - Postpartum tips for boosting your figure, your mind, and your sex life" In the article, Ms. Combe states:
Okay, where should I start? First of all, it is not "so-called" vaginal rejuvenation, it is vaginal rejuvenation. The author is not so subtly trying to discount the legitimacy of the procedure.I guess in much the same way we could call Ms. Combe's work "so-called" journalism. Next, some surgeons don't just "claim to be able to restore your nethers to their virginal state," they are actually doing it. Maybe if the author had spent some time talking to women who have had the procedure done (like those that gave these vaginal rejuvenation testimonials), she would have learned that there are actually women benefiting from these "so-called" procedures. And as far as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is concerned, I've mentioned many times before that they would be a poor judge. When is the last time your gynecologist asked you about your sexual satisfaction? Most gynecologists never discuss sexual gratification with their patients and know very little about the benefits women are getting from these surgeries. Not to mention that if you actually fix your stress urinary incontinence issues, you may not need as many trips to the gynecologist anymore! So why do I write this blog and keep this website up and running? Because Elle magazine is a large publication with more than 1 million paid subscribers and many more casual readers, and they are taking cheap shots at a procedure that I have personally seen help hundreds of women. And while I would be the first to admit that vaginal rejuvenation and labiaplasty are NOT for everyone, there are millions of women out there that can and do benefit from them. I believe you should know your options and make an educated decision for yourself, not simply take the half-researched opinion of somebody looking to be witty in a fashion magazine. And while Rachael may prefer to "spend the money on, like, some new drapes," if you are one of the millions suffering from vaginal relaxation, stress urinary incontinence or painful long labia, I'm guessing you might choose to spend your money a bit differently...
