Well another New Year is upon us! Hopefully you rang in the new year with those most special to you. This time of the year is my favorite for several reasons, but mainly because your clock resets. You leave the past in the past and it's a time for a fresh start. The way I look at it, it's a time for evaluating your life, determining what is important to you and choosing what you want to accomplish with this year. While many people like New Year's Resolutions, I prefer New Year's Commitments. Commitment is just a stronger, more serious word. It is promise to myself that these things will be accomplished. Every year we should take the time to make commitments to ourselves and our life.
My Personal CommitmentsThis year one of my personal commitments to myself is not to eat any processed food. What exactly does that mean?? For two and a half weeks now, my husband and I have been eating nothing but whole foods (fruits, vegetables and raw nuts straight form the earth).
Yes, that means no more meat. No more cheese . No more chocolate. :-( We may add some of those things back in 2013 or maybe we won't. For now, I really want to see how awesome my body will feel by removing all that "stuff" from my diet. Commitments like these allow me to learn so much about myself spiritually and physically. It shows how powerful we are and can be...
Thank You for An Amazing Year of GrowthLast year was a fantastic year for Vaginal-Surgery.info. We helped more women (visitors were up 625% over 2010) in more countries (191) than ever before get answers to very important and personal questions. And the number of women who reached out to me for personal advice only skyrocketed. Since interacting with you is my favorite part of the site, that makes me HAPPY. 8-) As you can imagine, these numbers only remind me how women all over the world are interested in vaginal rejuvenation and labiaplasty and their potential benefits.
My Commitments to You for 2012This year I'm doing something special and sharing my commitments for Vaginal-Surgery.info directly with you. It is important to understand me and my motivations for running the site in order for you to make the best decisions for yourself. In the end, any decision you make about your body is yours alone to make. Not me, your partner, your friend or your doctor. Nobody has the right to tell you what to do or not do with your body! With that in mind, here are my commitments to you for 2012!
#1 - Provide You More Top Quality InformationOne of the main reasons I started this blog 4 years ago was because nobody else was doing it. Nobody was answering tough questions about vaginal tightenings and labia reductions. You weren't getting answers from your GYN, your friends or TV. These surgeries need to be taken seriously and you need to get the facts! My aim has always been to provide you with the most comprehensive information available. You deserve to know the truth (the good, the bad and the ugly). Pieces like the Are You a Candidate Quiz, Questions to Ask Your Doctor and Doctors to Avoid provide you with advice you can use to get the care YOU deserve. In 2012, you can count on more in depth articles designed specifically to help you determine what is right for you.
#2 - Uncover More Doctors You Can TrustBecause the #1 question you ask is for help finding a doctor, last year Vaginal-Surgery.info started the Trusted Doctor List, in an effort to help you find good qualified cosmetic vaginal surgeons. Trust me, I know how complicated it can be to determine your doctor's qualifications or if they are even any good. Unlike anything out there, these are highly-trained doctors that I know personally and trust want to help you. In fact, I've been traveling non-stop already this year, working hard for you; meeting and interviewing more doctors, looking for those that fit my criteria and even meeting ones that don't. And believe me, there are a lot of those out there. :-/ But the bottom line is you deserve the best and I am committed to helping you find it!
#3 - Listen to You & Focus on YouSince the day I started this site many moons ago, my focus has and remains to be squarely on YOU. This site exists to help you improve the quality of your life. For some of you, that may mean a labiaplasty, vaginal rejuvenation or even a revision. For others, it may mean you decide you are happy just the way you are. No one is here to judge or tell you what you need or should do, only to help get you some answers. We are women of the 21st Century. You are a beautiful, intelligent and powerful woman, capable of raising a family, running a company and making your own decisions about what is best for you. My role is to support you in your decision making process and to get you what I believe is critical information. The decisions are yours. Just know that you are not alone!
Help Me Help You?Wow, that felt great! Now you know what I'll be doing for you this year. What do you think? Do you have any suggestions to make the site better? What do you need that you aren't finding online right now? Chances are if it will help you, it will help thousands of other women as well! Leave me a comment below or send me an email with your suggestions.
Wishing you the best year of your life. A year filled with peace, love and joy! --Vanessa

Hi Vanessa, I had labiaplasty (wedge) 13 days ago and have been re-sutured twice. First repair was on day 6 and 2nd repair on day 9. When the 2nd repair was needed my dr told me to stop wearing compression garment for tummy tuck (done at same time) bcuz the garment snaps around crotch area like a bathing suit. She told me to keep bacitracin, Vaseline gauze, and a pad there and I am not wiping or rubbing the area only using a saline spray to clean and patting dry. I got so swollen with 2nd repair, while dr was stitching it blew up like a balloon! So now I'm at day 13 and it looks like it is opened up again and I see an edge of a stitch sticking out that wasn't there before. Is it possible stitches are too loose when swelling goes down and then are coming out? And maybe is the area too moist? I haven't been doing much activity just light housework in small doses. I think I may have the stitches the first time by wiping and washing too vigorously. I was taking around the clock pain meds due to the tummy tuck and I didn't feel any pain down there so I was probably too rough with the area. But this time I've been so careful and still think its opened up again! Any thoughts on this? And thank you for your time. My dr is a plastic surgeon with a lot of experience and a large clientele .
