Labiaplasty Side Effects

Is Labiaplasty safe or are there side effects?

While every woman is different and there is obviously no guarantee in anything (especially elective surgery).  But most women that have had a labiaplasty only rave of the results.

Results generally include: no more chaffing or discomfort while walking, exercising or during sexual intercourse.  An enhanced appearance, improved hygiene, no more embarrassment in the way clothing fits the vaginal area and even better sex for some. : )

But to be fair, a labiaplasty is no different than any other surgery.  There are risks involved

Like any surgery, when reducing the size of the labia one can run the risk of infection, pain, scarring or dissatisfied results.

All of these risks or side effects can be minimized through preparing yourself, choosing an experienced surgeon and following your doctors post-op instructions.

With labiaplasty, many women are worried about a loss of sensation, but that hasn't been my experience.

In order to avoid infection and get the best results possible it is always essential to take optimal care of this area after the surgery.

And even though a labiaplasty is a relatively minor and noninvasive procedure, the women I saw achieve the best results would follow the doctor's directions to a T.

The following suggestions are encouraged for any woman that has undergone labiaplasty:

  • No heavy lifting of anything over 10 pounds
  • No strenuous exercise
  • No swimming
  • No sex for 4-6 weeks.

The amount of pain you experience will depend on you personally, but your doctor should provide some type of pain killer if Ibuprofen isn't enough.

And the biggest risk, botched results, needs to be taken care of BEFORE the surgery.

Make sure you know exactly what your doctor is going to do to you.  Ask to see before and after pictures of THEIR previous patients.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.  It is your body.  Make sure your doctor and you have the same vision for how your "new" labia should look.

Signs Your Vaginal Surgery Doctor Is Lying

Again every woman heals differently, but to avoid any possible complication, listen to your body and of course your doctor.

I'd rather be overly safe than sorry.

There are risks in any surgery, labiaplasty included.  But you can minimize those risks with planning and giving yourself time to heal properly.

Is your doctor good or not?

Check the stories on makemeheal.com for labiaplasty. There are photos. I have been suffering from burning urination/bladder infection/urethral irritation for a month now due to having my inner labia REMOVED (without consent). RESEARCH BEFORE YOU DO IT!
