Restoring lashes, tightening vaginas, plumping lips top wish list among those considering less common cosmetic procedures

A recent post on the Los Angeles Times Blog dealt with some of the less common cosmetic surgery procedures, and it sheds light on what I've known for a long time:

And right behind it (eyelash restoration) was vaginal rejuvenation, with 19.4% of respondents who had never had one of the less common procedures saying they'd be "very" or "somewhat" likely to get their genital area tucked and tightened.

That translates to 19.4 million American women who are serious about having their vaginas cinched, their labia nipped and their clitoral folds surgically rendered more comely. This, in spite of a September 2007 warning from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists that these procedures "are not medically indicated" and their safety and effectiveness "have not been documented.

You are not alone ladies.  In my experience, the only reason more women haven't had the surgery already is that they don't know about it.

And as far as the "warning" from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, what would you expect?

As I've mentioned in other posts, gynecologists are not concerned with your sexual satisfaction, and consequently, don't see your sexual satisfaction as "medically indicated."

Although I'm sure that you may beg to differ.

You can read the rest of the LA Times post here.
