| Foods to Avoid After Vaginal Rejuvenation or Labiaplasty |
|
After having any surgical procedure where pain medication is consumed, it is important to acknowledge the possibility of your bowel movements being affected. Vaginal rejuvenation is no different. In fact, because of the nature of this surgery, it is quite common. It is common for women to get constipated due to the medication impacting digestion. Since you want to avoid strain or pressure in this area because of the sutures, eating foods to help move things along in your body is strongly encouraged. My recommendation after a labiaplasty or vaginal tightening is to stay away from foods that your body does not process well (e.g. heavy meats, dairy, enriched flour to name a few) and load up on foods high in fiber and easy to digest (raw vegetables, fresh fruit, whole grains, etc.). Before your surgery, you can also incorporate stool softeners to help ease the process. Ask your doctor for recommendations. If they are experienced, they should have some they tell their patients about. Also drink plenty of water and avoid flavored or caffeinated drinks that may dehydrate you. Taking care of your body and keeping yourself in optimal health is always smart, however, it is also a nice way to insure a speedy recovery after any surgery. Vaginal rejuvenation and labia reduction take place in a particularly delicate area. Do what is best for you to have a safe, speedy and happy recovery. When in doubt, ask your doctor and find out for yourself. Everybody is unique, so listen to your body and make the choices that are right for YOU. If you have questions, let me know how I can help.
